Soundproof Tunnel(PRISM PC-type)

Optimum Soundproof Tunnel designed
to inhibit reflected light

This is a soundproof tunnel made by the optimal soundproof tunnel roof material system construction method which is designed for great stiffness, with perfect waterproofing ability, and the suppression of reflected light by using a highly stiff frame (PO SMAC), 4-stage waterproofing and reflected lightreducing roof materials (PRISM PC ).

Soundproof Tunnel that completely blocks reflected light

  • Excellent frame stiffness (POSMAC)
  • Additional rust-proofing not required (ultra-precision alloy steel)
  • Complete water leakage protection
    (4-stage waterproofing = sealing + gasket + hydrophilic waterstop + finishing material)
  • Complete prevention of damages caused by reflected light (10G.U-PRISM PC)
  • Inhibition of glare phenomenon inside a tunnel
(15% or more difference in total light transmittance of upper and lower surfaces)
  • Tunnel interior illumination enhancement (total light transmittance of 90% or more)
  • Possible to be applied to H-beams, pipes, and structures of any shape

Difference between high-stiffness transparent panel and general PC

Category PRISM PC General PC
Characteristics Alloy steel with stiffness greater than or
equal to that of SS400
Made of aluminum, which is relatively less stiff
Reflective light Diffracts and reflects the light coming from a light
source to minimize the damage done by the reflected light
Damage done by reflected light is generated
as the light from the source is reflected
Glossiness 10 G.U or less 100 G.U or more
Total light
transmittance
Upper surface: 94.2%
Lower surface: 70.4%
No glare phenomenon because the difference
between the upper and lower surfaces is 23.8%
Upper surface: Greater than 85%
Lower surface: Greater than 85%
Glare phenomenon occurs as there is no difference
between the upper and lower surfaces

Application of Soundproof Tunnel (PRISM PC type)

  • Pokposa Intersection in Haeundae, Busan

  • Tongyeong–Daejeon Expressway
